After graduating from UC Berkeley, I had moved to New York City to work in a digital sales role for Microsoft. As a hobby, I began to take recreational trapeze classes at the Trapeze School of New York and at the New York Circus Arts Academy. Although I enjoyed my corporate job and spent many hours in the office, all my free time ended up being invested into my trapeze and circus training. The trapeze and circus experience gave me an opportunity to challenge myself, to work with a team and to trust others, and to take me away from the realities of work and the world around me. Eventually after two years of taking trapeze and aerial arts classes, I was granted the opportunity to work full-time as a trapeze instructor and performer at the Club Med in Turks and Caicos Caribbean islands. This was probably the hardest decision I have ever made in my life seeing as though I had never taken such risks in my career and/or academics. Although the hardest decision, it turned out to be the best decision I had ever made. I may have only earned 5% of what I was making in the corporate world, but following a passion and living a dream has so much more value than I could have ever imagined. After this amazing experience, I’m at the point where I want to be able to share my story and to challenge others to live life to the fullest. Now I am juxtaposing my trapeze experience and my corporate background to create a website that serves as an online portal and network where all levels and interests in trapeze and aerial arts can connect and share their experiences. Use this website as a resource and as a community and always remember to challenge yourself, to follow your passion and to set no limits.
